one of my favorite college classes was backpacking. the class culminated with a 4-day pack trip up the canyon creek lakes trail, not far from weaverville. pitched camp near the river in a small grove of trees at the top of canyon creek falls, day hiked to stonehouse, and swam in icy boulder creek lakes.
